...........the Nook Tablet doesn't beat the Kindle Fire when it comes to repairability. iFixit awarded the Fire an overall 8 out of 10 repairability score, meaning the device is pretty easy to take apart and replace or repair broken components. The simple design and assembly requires nothing but a Philips #0 driver and the plastic prying tools needed to get inside. ..........
The Nook Tablet, though, only scored 6 out of 10 for repairability. Hidden screws, Torx head screws, tons of adhesives, and other manufacturing artifacts made getting to the Nook Tablet's internal parts more trouble than it's probably worth for the average tinkerer.
"We're not going to lie: the Nook Tablet was a tad tricky to get into. Anyone wanting to embark on this adventure will need to gear up with both metal and plastic spudgers, plastic opening tools, a Torx T5 screwdriver, and an extra ounce of patience," Djuric said.
