Get a new e-reader as a gift? New York Public Library offers answers and instructions for using it

They'll still be reading ""Twas the Night Before Christmas," but some New Yorkers will be trading pages for pixels.

Experts say that several million e-readers were unwrapped this year, and in the coming days, many who got them as holiday gifts will find out they're all thumbs.

"On Christmas morning, most people just want the thing to work," said Michael Norris, a market analyst for Simba Information. "They don't want to bury themselves in a manual."

Luckily, the New York Public Library is geared up to answer calls for help:

The library's new "eBook Central" is an effort to assist the technologically illiterate.
