Nook Simple Touch to match Kindle’s $79 price tag on Black Friday

Barnes & Noble will release a lim­it­ed edi­tion Nook Sim­ple Touch e-read­er with a white bor­der for a bargain-bin price of $79 on Black Fri­day, the com­pa­ny announcedtoday.

The most basic Ama­zon Kin­dle now retails for $79 no mat­ter what day of the week is. How­ev­er, the Nook Sim­ple Touch has sev­er­al clear advan­tages, as the basic Kin­dle does not have a touch screen and fea­tures some adver­tis­ing.

For Black Fri­day, Barnes & Noble will offer the lim­it­ed edi­tion Nook Sim­ple Touch in phys­i­cal stores only until sup­plies last. Barnes & Noble claims the lat­est ver­sion of the Nook Sim­ple Touch offers 25 per­cent faster page turns than any other E-Ink-based read­er on the mar­ket. Ama­zon has not announced any Black Fri­day deals on its e-read­ers, but the online retail­er does have many other Black Fri­day deals..........
