Considering its low price of $199 that makes it more accessible than other tablets, ZdNet's Jason Perlow called Amazon's Kindle Fire the "People's Tablet." But early experiences indicate that the tablet, which went on sale in stores including Best Buy this week, is not that great as a reader.
According to reports, it is not as easy to read on Fire as it is on other Kindles. The 7-inch screen is fine for reading for books but for reading newspapers and magazines, that size seems a bit smaller. This is an area where rivals like the Apple iPad 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab score over Kindle Fire. While iPad 2 features 9.7-inch display, Galaxy Tab offers 7.7-inch display.
